In the past, zoos were built to mainly entertain people. However, the world has been growing fast. Animals and environment are now threatened. Zoos cannot be just an entertainment anymore but they have to take actions on wildlife conservation and educate people on how they could be involved.

          As far as I’m concerned, most of the zoos in Thailand don’t do so. For example, Nakhon Ratchasima is one of the provinces in Thailand that has high economic growth. Despite the fact that it has the potential to develop Nakhon Ratchasima zoo to be world standard, the zoo is quite in bad condition and doesn’t concern enough about animal welfare. That’s the reason behind this project.

          The Zoo is designed under the concept of “Experience of Sensation”. The zoo exhibits give the senses experience by the animal so that people can be educated through real experience. The animal exhibits divided into 4 sections as follows:

1. The first section would show various colours of colourful animals. It would be decorated with some plants that enhance the colours of the animals.

2. The second section would show the levels of animal habitats. The tourists could see the animals living in different height. It can give tourists an amazing experience.

3. The third section would show the size of large wildlife. All the gigantic animals would be in this section where the tourists will clearly see the greatness and powerful of nature. The viewing zones are set in the lower level so tourists can enjoy seeing the animal with worm’s-eye view.

4. The last section mainly display the texture of small and medium size friendly animals. Tourists can get close to the animals and also touch them with bare hand in order to feel the texture of the animals skin creating a good relationship between man and wildlife.
